Vesuvianite (also known as Idocrase) is a crystal found in limestone formations and was first discovered near lavas on Mt. Vesuvius, Italy. It serves as a link to the higher self. This stone gives you freedom from restraint or confinement. It works to clear past life experiences of danger or fear. Vesuvianite clears negative thought patterns and opens one to creativity. It assists with cooperative effort and is excellent to use where such energy is wanted. Vesuvianite opens the mind and provides a link to the higher self and helps one release feelings of imprisonment and extreme danger, whether from this lifetime or others.
Historical Folklore
Some believe that this stone has the ability to aid in overcoming past-life experiences. It is said to specifically help in dispelling experiences relating to anger, fear, or extreme danger.

Geology
Though this stone was first discovered in Italy, it has since been found in the United States. Vesuvianite has been found in various colors, including greens, browns, blues, yellows, and even reds. It is considered a silicate mineral, occuring as tetragonal crystals in igneous or metamorphic rock formations.

This stone is associated with the third eye, past life, and soma chakras.
Care
You can place this stone in full moon moonlight to energize. It can also be moved through sage smoke or incense, placed in rice, or buried in the earth over night.

Vesuvianite is widely believed to strengthen tooth enamel. it has also been said to aid in absorbing nutrients from food.
