Individual Palo Santo Sticks

These Palo Santo Sticks are sold individually and vary slightly in size. The sticks are lightly larger than the pieces sold in our Palo Santo multipacks being just about 4″ in length weighing between 10 and 15 grams each. Responsibly harvested and sourced from Peru.

Palo Santo is a useful wood for many purposes, its wood contains a type of oil known as oil of guaiac (or guayacol) that is often used as an ingredient for perfumes. Its resin can be obtained by means of organic solvents, and is employed to make varnishes and dark paints. To some the wood is appreciated for the claimed skin-healing properties of its essence and oils. Despite being a very dense wood, It ignites easily and is often used as a method of lighting larger fires. The oil within the wood is what produces the characteristic fragrant smoke that the wood gives off when burned or allowed to smolder . Natives of the Chaco region employ the bark to treat stomach problems. Small pieces of the wood are also used as a form of natural incense in spiritual rituals.
