Citrine is a type of Quartz identified by its yellow to brown coloration. It is typically created by heat-treating amethyst; natural citrine is paler and considered to be a rare gemstone. The unique coloration natural citrine takes on is a result of colloidal Ferric Hydroxide impurities distributed through out the normally clear Quartz at a sub-microscopic level. This crystal can be found in the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Brazil, Congo, France, Uruguay, and Madagascar with these particular Small Natural Citrine Points originating in Madagascar.
