Geology

Charoite is a silicate mineral. It is known for its deep purple coloration and swirling patterns. It was found only recently near the Chara River in Russia back in 1978 and later in Siberia. The black inclusions frequently found in this lavender hued stone are often that of aegirine, a stone that often grows alongside Charoite. Charoite’s silky, fibrous structure means that it usually has a striking, shimmering finish when it has been polished. The stone occasionally shows Chatoyancy, meaning it appears to change color when viewed ad different angles.

Charoite has been used to help with the nervous system, yin and yang energies, and blood pressure.
