Geology

Chalcedony is a type of cryptocrystalline mineral formed from quartz, which itself is a silicate mineral, and Morganite, a crystal belonging to the Beryl family. What sets crystals from the chalcedony group apart from quartz is the unique Cryptocrystalline nature. Rather than one continuous crystal growth, chalcedony is composed of a vast amount of extremely fine individual quartz crystals. It has a very widespread distribution and can be found globally. 

Chakra Association

As a group of stones, different types of chalcedony can be associated with different chakras with blue chalcedony often being associated with the crown, third eye, and throat chakras.

Health Folklore

Chalcedony is thought to have various healing benefits based on its variety. Many are believed to support the throat and aid in allergy symptoms.
