Orthocerous (or Orthoceras) fossils are part of the ammonite family and help you rid yourself of ancient energies that have “fossilized” within you. In other words, these are excellent for working through past events from this lifetime or prior that you wish to understand and harmonize. Use orthocerous to stabilize positive growth, for each nodule on this fossil represents the distinct phases of growing energetically. It can also help with seeing to the core of any problems you may be dealing with.
Historical Folklore
Orthocerous was a type of underwater cephalopod that existed in the Paleozoic Era around 400 million years ago. They could be recognized for their long, slender shells and tentacles. Fossils have shown that these creatures could measure anywhere from a few centimeters to almost fifteen feet in length.
Geology
Orthocerous fossils typically show part or all of the pattern of the shell that became encased in sedimentary rock. They have most notably found in Morocco, with other specimens being discovered in Scandinavia and the Midwestern United States.

Like many fossils, Orthocerous resonates well with the root chakra.
Care
You can place this fossil in full moon moonlight to energize. It can also be moved through sage smoke or incense, placed in rice, or buried in the earth overnight.

This fossil is not associated with any particular astrological sign.
Health Folklore
Orthocerous fossils are thought to help with detoxing the body and relieving symptoms of stress or anxiety. They are also believed to strengthen and soothe the bones.
