Congratulations to Onna Donovan for her photo of a Civic Heart in a tree located at the Civic Center in Herrin, Illinois. Onna is the winner of our March Nature Spirit Photo Contest. The theme: nature spirits near civic structures.
Onna tells us:
As I was leaving a parking lot, this tree caught my attention from afar. Its energy lead me behind a building and I was immediately inspired to take its picture. I saw one distinct face, then another, and smaller spirits all in a group. Then the top half of the tree yelled “look at me, look at me”, so I included its loveliness in this post too.
(This tree lives) at the Civic Center (located in Herrin, IL). I’ve attended several educational classes, banquets, and award ceremonies there over the last many years. We’ve had motivational speakers who shared their life experiences and provided inspiration to many. And during the summers, my hospital provides free school physicals to the high school kids, from voluntary doctors and nurses. I’ve had the pleasure, as a nurse, to provide this giving gift.
So the group in this tree is very fitting. It represents the variety of community gathering for adults and children, where we can learn, laugh, cry, and share with each other. I was honored to meet them.
We really liked the energy of love this tree is sending forth. Also note the small portal guardians at the top of the heart. Each portal in nature comes with at least one guardian (visible or not) who protects its gateway into its world. This gateway keeper helps hold the dimensions separate from each other, so that folks from one realm do not unintentionally wander into another world!
April’s Nature Spirit Photo Contest is – Images in Water. Because our Nature Spirit photo group is growing so large, with a wide variety of postings, we need to change our submissions rules. It is becoming difficult to segment out the contest theme images from a whole month of postings! Therefore…if you have a water image you would like to submit to the contest….please, post it to the group. But if you wish to submit it to the contest – you must also send it by email to email@example.com along with your name and the story of the image.
