The word “cinnabar” is derived from the Persian term for “dragon blood”.

Cinnabarite is a mercury sulfide crystal. It is typically found with a red, pink, or white coloration. This stone can be found worldwide.

Care
You can place this stone in full moon moonlight to energize. It can also be moved through sage smoke or incense, placed in rice, or buried in the earth overnight.
Cinnabarite is in the sulfate family, which sometimes contains mercury. It is usually sold polished, as this helps seal off poisonous parts of the stone. Handle this stone with caution, washing your hands after use. Do not make elixir from cinnabarite. Keep it out of reach of children.
