This is coral that has been dyed red. We keep it in our line as coral in red color is so energetically soothing. Mediterranean red coral is on the endangered species list (coral being the skeleton of sea creatures). White brain coral dyed red and Bali red coral sponge stabilized with fillers is the usual red coral bead on today’s market; we use this type of coral. There is also fake coral made of plastic, we do not use this type of coral. A special permit is required to sell authentic red coral jewelry, due to its endangered status. Antique coral jewelry is exempted from that situation.
