Labradorite | Cubish
1/2″ – 3/4″
Labradorite has caught the attention of crystal enthusiasts because of the beautiful colors and sheen the stone exhibits. Gently turn a piece of labradorite in your hands and you’ll be met with many beautiful colors and flashes of light. A stone of uncommon spiritual power, Labradorite can have high to extremely high vibrational energy, depending on the individual stone. Mystical and protective, this stone raises consciousness and helps to connect to universal energies. By deflecting unwanted energies from your aura, labradorite forms a barrier that does not allow energy leakages. Labradorite also aligns the physical and etheric bodies, strengthens faith in self, and trust in the universe.
Labradorite Folklore | History
Labradorite is named after its location of discovery on the Isle of Paul, near Nain, Labrador, Canada. It was discovered there in 1770 by a Moravian missionary.
The Inuit people lore states labradorite fell from the Aurora Borealis as a frozen fire.
Labradorite is a feldspar of the plagioclase series. It gets it’s stunning shimmer of colors, known as Labradorescence, from a twinning surfaceinside the stone. Twinning is one of the many properties found in plagioclase. That being said, Labradorite is the only plagioclase stone that exhibits Labradorescence so strongly.
