Fairy Stone | Canada

These come from the shores of the Harricana River, Abitibi, Quebec, Canada. While some of these concretions were lying on the ground, most are collected by digging the clay soil then carefully cleaning and drying the fairy stones.  These are hard to find, and we were pleased to locate them on a recent stone expedition. 

Fairy Stone carries a lot of nature spirit energy and are excellent for connecting at a very grounded level. The name was given to them by the local Algonquins who carried or placed them in the home for good luck and success in hunting for food.

Geology

Fairy Stones – “Loess Children” – Canada. Loess is rock ground by glaciers so fine that it is blown by winds and forms soil-like deposits. Groundwater moving through the soils dissolves calcium and other minerals which then are redeposited by the chemical and biological process into these unique concretion formations.  

Fairy Stone at Crystal Life

We hand-select all of our stones at Crystal Life. After hundreds of thousands of years in the earth, they are eager to begin work with their new human partners! When stones arrive at Crystal Life, they are welcomed warmly by staff members and the store’s resident nature spirits. The stones are energetically cleared on a regular basis, to help them maintain their own inherent peaceful characteristics and personalities while being visited by so many store guests.
