White Turquoise is often called the “White Buffalo” stone, signifying its broad spiritual energies and its connection to the higher energies now descending to earth. This variety of turquoise is a powerful sacred stone valued for its rarity and purity of mineral composition.

Historical Folklore

This stone has been historically used as a protection stone for its purifying properties. It has often been crafted into amulets to aid in warding off negative energies and promoting communication.

White Turquoise has been referred to as “White Buffalo” in US mining and trading circles for over fifty years. Most participants in these circles do not use the term “White Turquoise” at all, as the stone is not truly turquoise (see “Geology” below).

Geology

Because White Turquoise contains no copper and lacks a blue coloration, it is technically not turquoise at all. It is a softer stone than turquoise and is typically white with black or brown vein patterns. White Turquoise is typically found in the southwestern United States, particularly in Nevada and Arizona.

Chakra Association

This stone is often associated with the Crown chakra but has the ability to realign all seven chakras.

Care

You can place this stone in full moon moonlight to energize. It can also be moved through sage smoke or incense, placed in rice, or buried in the earth over night.

Astrological Association

Turquoise is associated with Aquarius, Taurus and Sagittarius.

Health Folklore

White Turquoise is said to help promote a general sense of well being. It can be useful for channeling new energy into the body. This stone can also help with promoting a sense of emotional peace, easing the effects of depression and panic.
