Staff Speak- Sacral Chakra

The second chakra, also known as the sacral chakra, is located in the area between the naval and approximately 2″ above the pubic bone.  This is the energy center where creativity resides enabling us to go with the flow.  It is also where our emotions about inter-relations with our personal world (friends, associates, lovers) resides.

Some stones that assist with this chakra are orange coral, chrysoprase, orange agate and carnelian just to name a few.  “A stone of the sea,” orange coral is good for working on relations with others.  Chrysoprase helps to release any stored up feelings in the second chakra.  Orange Agate helps you to go with the flow of life.  Moonstone helps to soothe and understand the emotions that we have stored in the second chakra.  Carnelian helps stimulate creativity.

There are many ways to utilize these stones for the second chakra.  Get two of the same kind and put one in each of your pant pockets where they can be near your sacral chakra.  You can wear one as a pendant to have the energy in your field throughout the day.

Name Sahasrara Chakra: “Thousand-Petaled”. Crown Chakra, Vertex Center of 1000-petaled lotus.
Location Center of top of head, touching head and extending into aura above it, 4 finger breadths above.
Symbol/Yantra 1000-petaled lotus (actually 972 petals, others say 1008 petals).
Basic Principles
Pure being. Spiritual. Illumination, godliness. “I am That”. When seventh unfolds, any blockages remaining in other 6 chakras dissolve and their energies begin vibrating at highest possible frequencies. Benefits of union: no activity of mind, no knower/known. Knower and known become unified and liberated. Do not interfere in anything, do not bother anyone, do not want be bothered by anyone; oneness with God. “My being enhances the beauty and radiance of All-That-Is.” Union. Space between the two hemispheres. Yogi IS Satchidananda: is his own real self.
Seat of highest human perfection; often represented as hovering above head. Just as all colors, spectrum is united in colorless light. Highest chakra, unites in itself all energies of lower center.
Highest recognition of perfection through inner contemplation, union with the Universal Being, universal consciousness. The silent one: do not interfere in anything. Personal identification with God. Center of quintessential consciousness where integration of all polarities are experienced. Neutralizes all sounds and all colors, integrates all cognitive and conative functions, embraces static and dynamic energies of various centers into an all-pervasive unity. The last chakra to be developed in a human being.

Location One finger above the nose, center of forehead; approximately 2 fingers deep in head, opens forward. Pituitary gland.
Symbol/Yantra 96-petaled lotus. White circle with two luminous petals that are actually 48 petals each.
Basic Principles
Knowledge of being—intuitive. Clear seeing and intuitive sight. Divine sight. Psychic and occult powers are endless. Seeing and becoming go together. Clairvoyance, intuitive knowledge. “Inner wisdom is always available to me.” Realization, austerity, penance, clairvoyance, intuition. Reveals Divine within and reflects divinity within others. See light around head, aura. Ida (lunar current), pingala (solar current) and sushumna meet here: Three Rivers; negative and positive equalized.
Very few people have completely opened their third eye. Even when incomplete, it can function very harmoniously. Active mind, advanced intellectual skills, scientific research, philosophical truths. Basic Principles
Love. Devotion, oneness. Direct cognition. Self-abandon. “I am the source of unlimited love.” Energizes the body with life force, blood circulation. Unconditional love, forgiveness, compassion, understanding, oneness with life, harmony, contentment. Bhakti yoga.
Center entire chakra system; connects 3 lower physical and emotional centers to 3 higher mental and spiritual centers. Ability to empathize, sympathize, attune and join with cosmic vibrations. Body Issues: Insufficient Functioning Completely shut: coldness, indifference, “heartlessness”; to feel anything requires strong external stimulation; out of balance, suffer from depression. Vulnerable to injury, dependent on love, affection of others; when experiencing rejection, deeply hurt, especially since you had the courage to open self up. When this happens, feel like withdrawing into shell, are sad and depressed.
Body Issues: disharmonious functioning Want be there for others, give freely but without being connected with the source of love, without being conscious of it; expect recognition, reassurance for all the “love” you give, feel disappointed when efforts not appreciated. Name Svadishthana Chakra: “Dwelling place of the self”. Sacral Chakra or Cross Center (sometimes referred to as Spleen Center, which is actually a secondary center or the 3rd chakra).
Location Upper part of sacrum, approximately at upper limit of pubic hair, opens forward.
Symbol/Yantra 6-petaled lotus. Circle with crescent.
Basic Principles
Sensation. Creative reproduction of being—sensation. Acquire power of love; love everyone and loved by everyone. “I rejoice in my desires and my pleasures”. Reason. Home of intellect, logic, analysis.
Often considered real seat of Shakti, female aspect of God. Water. Physical level: decontaminating functions of kidneys and bladder: spiritual, liberated, free-flowing feelings enable see life ever-primordial and new. Lower/digestive: analyzes food ingested, separating useful and transforming for use. Higher: acceptance & integration of our feelings).
Primal feelings, flowing with life, sensuality, eroticism, creativity, awe and enthusiasm.
Ruling Planet Mercury
Astrological Sign Gemini. Cancer/Moon, Libra/Venus, Scorpio/Pluto.

Body Issues: Dark Aspects of Energy Here people fall from path of light and truth: lower vital sex forces try lower consciousness of seekers but if can bring down purity from hearth chakra, ok.
Body Issues: Insufficient Functioning Usually traced back to childhood: parents suppress sexuality, transfer it. During puberty, you suppress sexual feelings, result in lack of self-esteem, emotional paralysis, sexual coldness: life seems dreary and not worth living.
