Grandfather Buffalo – Crystal, Color, and the Chromatic Scale

chromaticscaleThere are several things I want to talk about. By the title you can guess what they are.

First, however, I would speak about the Mayan End of Days, Dec. 21st, 2012. We find that we are still here. It was not the end of days. Simply the end of the Mayan Calendar, and the beginning of a new day. Many people, including myself, have experienced this Calendar ending in various ways. Leaving us numb one minute, but in the next minute finding ourselves in a new world. Our personal vibrations are higher, as well as that of everything else.

This is where our adventure begins. The vibrations or frequencies of crystals/gemstones and color (chroma) are rising. These are used in many healing experiences. Crystal Healing, Color Healing, and Sound Healing, either separate or together.

Here are the tools you will need in order to experience this work in the following exercise.

1. Crystals and Gemstones of various colors

2. The Chromatic Scale

C C# D D# E F F# G G# A A# B C

The use of a Pitch Pipe, Harmonica, or other instrument is advisable. You may also sing the tone.

3. Some knowledge of the Chakras

Base – Red – C

Sacral – Orange – D

Solar Plexus – Yellow – E

Heart – Green – F

Throat – Blue – G

Third Eye – Indigo – A

Crown – Violet/White – B

4. A knowledge of the complementary color wheel, as you can mix colors for specific experiences.

Now let us experiment.

You have hurt your back and have pain. First see your Doctor for their expertise and proper medical treatment.

Secondly, or for supplementary support, find a blue stone and the note G#, a yellow/green stone and the note F, and perhaps a Violet stone and the note A.

1. Hold the blue stone, perhaps Blue Lace Agate. Visualize the color surrounding the injured area. Hold the stone and generate the sound of G#. Do this for two to three minutes. This acts as a sedative.

2. Now take the yellow/green stone, perhaps a lime colored Serpentine. Visualize the color surrounding the injured area. Hold the stone and sound the F note with the pitch pipe. Do this for approximately five minutes. This color and frequency will assist the healing process.

3. Use the Violet stone, maybe an Iolite, and create the A note.

4. Finally, use the blue stone and G# note once again.

Depending upon the colors you use, you may want to use a cooling color afterwards (ex: If you use a red stone, use it’s complimentary color green to cool it.

ISIC – Grid for Boundaries and Abundance

As we go into the New Year, it is important to maintain clear boundaries in order to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves. This is a crystal grid to create a healthy balance between offering help and receiving prosperity.

In this grid there are several shapes working together. The outer most Merkabah is composed of Tiger’s Eye (the upward facing triangle), and Citrine (the downward facing triangle); between each of these are Clear Quartz points. There is a small merkabah made completely of Ruby, and in the center there is a Fuchsite specimen.

Tiger’s Eye is a grounding, protective stone. It also assists in reaching goals by showing you your own available resources. It helps you to pull together scattered details in order to complete a whole. Tiger’s eye opens the users eyes to their own needs as well as the needs of others.

Citrine is a great cleanser and energizer. It attracts prosperity, success, and abundance of all things good. Citrine helps to analyze a given situation, and increases self-esteem. Many people who require professional aid are full of sadness, citrine can offer your clients a bit of sunshine.

Ruby increases drive and motivation. It stimulates and balances the heart. When working as a practitioner it is important to establish boundaries, defining your energy from your clients. Ruby protects the Heart Chakra from being drained in these situations. Also a stone of abundance, ruby helps to maintain wealth and passion for life and pulls negativity to the surface in order for it to be transmuted.

Fuchsite offers insight on relationships with other people. When in “Doctor Mode,” it helps to channel the most efficient holistic remedy. Fuchsite makes it easier to access knowledge regarding health matters and overall well-being. It works to reverse martyrdom, releasing the need to offer everything possible even when doing so compromises healthy balance. Fuchsite helps us to stand by and allow others to learn the lessons that they need to experience.

Finally, Clear Quartz points outward connecting all of the different levels of this grid. The points allow energy to freely flow in and out. It amplifies the energies of the other stones present in the grid, making each of them more affective. Quartz knows when and how to adjust to the vibrational level of the person needing healing, then tuning the persons energy back into it’s most perfect state.

Grandfather Buffalo Best of 2012 – Using the Pendulum to Connect with Animal and Stone Energy

All this week we are bringing you our most popular blogs of 2012! Enjoy!

_____________________

The Pendulum is a dowsing tool used to find the answer to any question you may have. The answer you seek resides somewhere out there in the Universe. Today we will approach that task by connecting with nature. In many cultures, past and present, the Native American, Celts, or Baltic Shamans connected with Animal Spirits for guidance.

Let us choose ten Animals or Insects and their qualities to connect with. Of course, you may also choose your own.

1. Eagle – bigger picture, healing, illumination

2. Bear – intuition, personal rhythm, dream, healing

3. Dolphin – breathing, sound, water (emotion, etc.)

4. Butterfly – transformation, joy, change

5. Squirrel – activity, preparedness, sociability

6. Turtle – motherhood (nurturing), longevity, awakening to opportunity

7. Hawk – vision, gaurdianship, observe closely, opportunity

8. Frog – initiation, new beginings, solitary, rest

9. Dog – protection, loyalty, faithfulness

10. Cougar – coming into your own power, stealth, nightvision

We have ten animals and each of their qualities. Now let’s add some gemstones to the mix.

1. Picture Jasper - bigger picture

2. Amethyst - healing, inner wisdom

3. Turquoise – master healer

4. Moonstone – intuition, illumination

5. Apophylite – breathing, connecting physical and spiritual, akashic record

6. Crysanthamum Stone – joy, creativity, nature

7. Citrine – joy, abundance, creativity

8. Carnelian - energy, stability

9. Moss Agate - sociability

10. Chrysocolla - socialbilty

11. Aventurine – new beginings

12. Dalmation Stone - protection, faithfulness

13. Chrysoprase - empowerment

We now have the tools to use with the pendulum.

Take a couple deep breaths and focus clearly on a question. Ex: I really need to set up boundaries, which animal will assist me in that? Hold the pendulum over the list of animals and move down until you get a response. The Eagle has volunteered to assist clearly with a bigger picture. This will allow me to access what boundaries I need to take.

Now let’s look at the list of gemstones. As in the previous step, let’s see if there are one or more stones who volunteer. Move down this list to get your yes or no response. Picture jasper has volunteered the energy of the bigger picture while amethyst has offered the energy of inner wisdom.

Thank the animals and the stones. You will need to work with the stone until there is clarity around your question. My task is to look at all the areas I am involved in and decide which ones need to be active and which ones need to be set aside for now. There are too many irons in the fire, which ones do I need to take out and let cool off.

ISIC Best of 2012 – Practitioner’s Tool Box

All this week we are bringing you our most popular blogs of 2012! Enjoy!

_________________

As a practitioner, the issues of your clientele are obviously going to vary. The tools and information required to help them along will depend on their needs. Working with crystals is not an exception. Each crystal has a list of properties, and they are not always going to apply to the work you are doing. On the other hand, there are stones that just about everyone can use. Here are three stones have been found to be of assistance in any situation.

Firstly, let review Selenite and it’s uses. This crystal brings down the purest of white light energies. It works with the Crown Chakra and other higher Crown Chakras, offering peace and higher access to a higher consciousness.  Selenite is fossilized salt water, so it can work to purify a nearby water table, or correct the flow of a vortex created by underground water in motion. The high frequency at which selenite resonates will dissolve any negativity in the energy field. This can easily be achieved by using it to “comb” the aura. It also will help to align the spinal column when placed along the vertebrae.

Blue Kyanite is another great stone with an energy that everyone can use. Like selenite, it does not require clearing. These two crystals also connect the light-body to the physical body, grounding higher consciousness and high vibrations. Each person has energy blockages, and kyanite breaks right through them. It aligns and clears the meridians, chakras, and subtle bodies. It also relieves physical pain. Being a Throat Chakra stone, blue kyanite opens the throat, assisting in self-expression and cutting through fears that reside in this area. Additionally, kyanite replenishes life force energy, and aids in realizing the cause of any issue.

Finally, Black Tourmaline completes this trio. Tourmaline has the ability to purify and transform dense, imbalanced energy into lighter, high vibrational energy. When it is actively working in the energy field, negativity passes through rather than sticking to the aura. This allows the user to learn from a negative situation, but not to be directly affected by it. Black tourmaline also removes blockages, connects the chakras, and balances the meridians. Being a Root Chakra stone, it helps to understand yourself as well as others. It increases vitality, and offers a clear thought process. Black tourmaline is also a great tool for alleviating the effects of EMF pollution.

In the above photo are the three suggestions displayed. The uppermost setup is intended for a work space. This could be your office, home, or business. If you have a practice that requires that your client lay down, this would be perfect underneath the table. The large specimens reach out, covering a moderately vast area. On the bottom left, there is a pocket size version of the three stones. This could be placed in a pouch to wear, carried with you, or maybe on a desk. If you are the crafty type, I recommended trying to replicate the item on the bottom right. This is a wand, and originally where this triad comes from. The selenite has a fine point, a surgical point if you will. The kyanite lays on the side assisting the selenite in removing blockages. The black tourmaline is on the end of the wand, placed to protect the healer from any negative energies that the client may be releasing. If you choose to do this, copper wire, leather, and silk are all great ways to hold stones together. A little Gorilla Glue wouldn’t hurt either. Have fun!

ISIC – Stress Relief Grid

With the energetic shifts and changes arriving along side of 2012, there seems to be an increased need for rest and recuperation. As these times require additional inward focus, this additional focus requires that we stay calm and relaxed. This layout of stones caters to this need, and recharges you for whatever may lie ahead.

This formation consists of only four different stone types and a 3 1/2 Cubit Slim Spurling ring.

The stones are all placed on the points of two superimposed merkabahs, each composed of like stones. Lets begin with the calming triad. The outer most of the three is larimar. It brings peace and tranquility which allows for a deep meditative state. Now is the time to use earth goddess stones like larimar, as they can bring guidance in times of stress and change.

The second and center stone in the triad is howlite. In preparing the mind for wisdom and insight, Howlite is also a very useful stone for meditation. It is extremely calming and soothing for the emotions, thus it offers us an opportunity to take a step back from the chaos. From that point on, it is much easier to center and function at our highest capacities.

The third and innermost stone of this merkabah is blue calcite. The calcite family has quite a selection of colors, each with unique properties. These color based properties are in addition to the structural based properties of calcite. These “generic” qualities cleanse the physical and subtle bodies and help to restore lost hope and motivation. Calcite also removes stress and replaces it with serenity. Blue calcite gently soothes nerves and anxieties. It facilitates relaxation and recuperation while absorbing, transmuting, and returning energy to the user.

At each point of the second complete merkabah is a piece of yellow calcite. Balancing and clearing discordant energies with the power of the sun, yellow calcite brings joy and cheerfulness into the field. It is uplifting, and induces a deep relaxing meditation. Stepping into this energy is like stepping into the light of the Sun.

I recommend making this grid large enough to stand or sit in. It would, of course, still be beneficial in a smaller size on your desk or under your chair. In these situations I would not use a Ring to circle to grid. If you are creating a larger scale grid, when not in use, remember to remove the Slim Spurling ring in order to allow the energies to flow as they wish. When in use, this ring will clear and charge everything cylindrically contained within it.

Grandfather Buffalo – What Did I Just Read?

How many times have you read a book, article, or essay and left not really understanding much of what you have read? Often I find myself in a fog after reading something and I ask myself, “What am I missing here.”

My reaction is to set aside that book or article for a period of time, and after a day or so start another book that requires no deep thought. This new book helps to clear the mind. While reading, I will come across a paragraph, sentence, or phrase that clarifies the other book.

Recently I began experimenting with wearing or holding a clear quartz crystal while reading. I find this helps to clarify what I am reading as well as retaining the information.

Let me explain the process, and then you may experiment with it also. First you will need a quartz crystal. This crystal does not have to be perfect. Do not worry about it being opaque, cloudy, chipped, or any other abnormalities.

Collect several quartz pieces (three or four), and set them in front of you. With a hand over each one or with a pendulum, ask which quartz point will work with you to bring clarity of thought and to recall what you are reading. You will only need one so be sure the chosen one is the most beneficial for your purpose.

Here is how to program (inspire) your crystal:

Hold the crystal in your left hand. Focus your intent of clarity and recall upon the crystal for two to three minutes. When you begin to feel a field building up around the quartz piece know that the intent is taking hold. When you are confident that the intent is there within the crystal, then go to the final step.

Blow three times upon your crystal. This will seal the intent into it for a twenty-eight day period or cycle.

Now find a quiet place to read your book while holding or wearing your crystal. Do not think about whether you are understanding the book or whether the crystal is working. At a good stopping point, set the book and crystal aside, and go do something else; fix something to eat, mow the lawn, etc. Allow whatever information you have read to come into your thoughts. Is there clarity and understanding? Again, do not analyze, just let the thoughts flow and recall what you have read.

Continue with the process. The more you do it, the easier it will become and the more you will know.

Happy reading!

ISIC – Consciousness Studies Grid

Embarking upon the spiritual journey is an exciting adventure. The quest for consciousness can sometimes also be a lot to take in. This grid is designed to ease stress and to optimize your capacity to absorb the many truths that surface while “on the path”. It offers an opportunity to relax and assimilate, perhaps in a meditation or while reading.

The stones are laid in the formation of a Merkabah within a Merkabah. This creates a solid, and balanced energy flow. Placed around the stones is a Slim Spurling Ring, in order to keep the space clear and energized.

The Aragonite serves as a base for the upward pointing triangle of the outer Merkabah. It encourages discipline and concentration while helping you to ground and center. At the point of this triangle stands Lapis Lazuli. This is one of the great Third Eye Chakra stones. It releases stress from your field which allows you to obtain a sense of serenity. This combined with its quality to bring objectivity and deep self-knowledge is the key to spiritual attainment. The downward facing triangle of the outer Merkabah is composed of Copper and Quartz. Copper stimulates initiative and philosophical energy. As well as Clear Quartz, Copper is exceptionally conducive of present energies and amplifies them. In this arrangement, the Quartz Points filter out distractions and unblock any energies that may need to be moved.

The inner Merkabah is simply made of Magnesite, which brings a deep peace in meditation, harmonizes the hemispheres of the brain, and calms stress.

The final addition to this grid is a Clear Quartz, four-sided pyramid. Pyramids are used to enhance and focus energy. Here, it is being utilized to send the energies of the layout up into the seat of the user.

All of these pieces create a peaceful atmosphere where it is more easily possible not only to push our self-imposed limits, but to be able to go far beyond them.

Grandfather Buffalo – Finding the Right Stone for Your Needs

Many of you, our customers, come to Crystal Life with a purpose. Depending on who is here, one question may well be, “Can you read me? What stone do I need?” or “I am having an issue, what stone(s) will help?” We are here to help you with all of your needs and will assist you in finding the stone that will help with your specific situation. Each person here can and will connect with your present energy alignment in his/her own way, and then are directed to the stone that will assist. The chosen stone then resonates with your energy system to either restore that which is missing or to clear the energy that is not serving correctly.

While we are here to help you in this way, our greater desire is to assist you in being able to find that stone or item which answers your needs through your own energy and perceptions. When you enter Crystal Life, you are obviously here to correct or strengthen a situation. May I suggest that when you enter the store, ask yourself and/or your guides to place you in front of the stone you need at the present moment. Now, while tuning into your own energy, pick up the stone. Has your energy changed or is it changing? If you are unsure, try again to get an answer. If you do not get information, call on one of us to help you.

We invite you to our free classes. Our Saturday classes are to provide knowledge and instruction so that you can come to rely on your own intuitive ability on your spiritual journey. Our hope is that these tools will allow you to find your stones using your growing and developing intuition.

Here is a technique you may want to try. Using your eyes, call in all of your senses. See with your eyes, feel with your eyes, taste with your eyes, hear with your eyes, smell with your eyes. What is your response to this technique? You may apply the same process to all your senses.

Above all, we are definitely here to assist you in choosing the correct stones and assist you in choosing what feels right for you.

ISIC – Reiki Boost Grid

Creating grids is something that can be very enjoyable, and is certainly an effective way to do energy work.

This particular grid is composed of various crystals that can amplify and assist Reiki energy. The goal here is to have an easily accessible ‘station’ where it is possible to receive a quick clearing and boost of energy. In this arrangement there is an area to place each of the hands. This is where the Reiki is transferred from the grid to your person. In the case that you are not attuned to Reiki, it is still possible to utilize this grid concept. Ask your guides, as well as any available Reiki guide, to assist you in activating and directing the desired energy flow. If you already are a Reiki practitioner, use the Distance Healing symbol as well as asking your guides for assistance.

The main crystals included here are Apophylite to increase Reiki flow, Aragonite to ground high vibrational energies, Blue Kyanite to clear and align the body’s meridians, and Clear Quartz to amplify the Reiki and to balance any discordant energies. While there are other stones in this grid (Amethyst, Yellow Calcite, Citrine, Specular Hematite, Lithium and Rutilated Quartz, and Black Tourmaline), the four previously listed are the staples. When gridding, it is most beneficial to “make it your own”. Use stones that you are guided to use, or whichever make the most sense to you at the time.

All parts of this arrangement serve both a separate purpose and are also a part of a larger function. The straight line running from top to bottom signifies the central channel that flows through each of us, connecting to both the Earth and Source. The outer structure of the grid is a circle. The circle creates a sacred space, or Merkabah (where there’s a 2D circle, there is a 3D sphere), in which it is appropriate to place and conducive to the light patterns being crafted. The Large Quartz points are being utilized to direct the flow of Reiki and Crystal energies. The four carved Aventurine Reiki Stones surround the grid and offer both the properties of the stone type and each of the Reiki symbols.

Finally, notice the outward facing tiny Quartz points at each of the four directions. These are simply serving as doorways. When any sort of energetic grid is created, different energies are being gathered and locked into specific desired positions. As beneficial as this appears on the surface, the gridder must not tack the energies down. Rather, through the use of an open path, allow them to flow as freely as they wish, as everything in the Universe has consciousness and the right of free will. The energies are not there to be controlled. This is the foundation of the Interdimensional work we are constantly engaged in. We are to remain laterally cooperative, and should resist taking on hierarchical roles. In the case of this Reiki grid, these gateways allow for the obsolete energies to move out and return to Source, while creating space for the new energies to flow in.

With intention, this grid can provide a variety of uses. The original purpose was to offer a place where Reiki could be received by those in need. As I write, I realize that this grid may also be beneficial for the practitioner. Perhaps it can be used to establish an immediate connection to the Reiki vibration, or maybe a water bowl of sorts to perform a quick cleanse after a session with a client. The possibilities are seemingly endless. The most important part is to remember to have to have fun, and to follow your intuition.

Over the next few weeks I will be blogging about grids that have been set up at the store. There will be a different example grid every week to express ideas and concepts that have been encountered.
