Blue Papaya – School Tools
The new school year is upon us! Whether you live in a state where your children have already begun school, are just days away, or have a few weeks left of summer fun, there is always something left to purchase to assist your child with their new school year. While you’re out buying pencils, new binders, and other classroom requirements, be sure to stop into Crystal Life to find gemstones that will support your student’s energy at home and at school!
Himalayan salt lamps are a great addition to any bedroom, dorm, or study space. Salt lamps naturally generate negative ions, which promote a relaxed state of mind and have natural health benefits. One of Crystal Life’s most popular items, salt lamps are also believed to help with allergies and other sensitivities. Every bedroom in our home has it’s own lamp.
Another stone to consider for the bedroom or dorm is a large piece of Rose Quartz. Rose quartz can help to promote a peaceful atmosphere for your student to detox from the stresses that accompany a day at school and also assist with resting well. Known as the stone of unconditional love and infinite peace, rose quartz helps with deep inner healing and self-love. Crystal Life occasionally has rose quartz lamps in stock. These have been very beneficial lamps to my energy sensitive children’s bedrooms, creating a space that is not only peaceful, but also welcoming and restful.
If you have a student who has difficulties with talking too much or speaking their thoughts in a concise manner, you might want to try Lapis Lazuli. My family has had very positive results with this vivid gemstone, allowing one of my children to find balance with being social and also getting to the point when working with others and when being quizzed orally. This stone has benefited this child because lapis balances the throat chakra. Lapis is also known for helping to release stress and teaches the power of the spoken word.
If you have a child that walks on air more than they seem to be grounded to the earth, there are many great grounding stones available, but for my youngest crystal child carnelian has been the best stone to allow a balance between earth and air. Carnelian grounds and anchors the wearer in present reality, and is a known stabilizing stone with high energy. A stone of courage, it also promotes positive life choices and motivates for success, and helps to facilitate positive life choices.
Pyrite, also known as fool’s gold, is an excellent stone for the student who needs assistance with focus and concentration. Pyrite is also an excellent defensive stone, shielding from many forms of negative energies including at the physical, etheric & emotional levels. This stone helps to keep out negative vibrations of pollutants at the physical level via the energy field it creates in the aura.
Peridot not only sharpens the mind, it also helps
a student to retain their personal energy in a group situation, and to hold to their own belief system when it is challenged. Peridot motivates growth and helps to bring about necessary change. The influence of peridot is said to greatly improve difficult relationships. Peridot enhances confidence and helps with necessary change. One of my children used peridot in combination with amethyst last fall to help handle the evolving and changing energies as close friends moved away to attend university while they began their senior year. This was a powerful and healing combination, allowing stress to dissipate while confidence grew and the amethyst helped to balance the emotional bodies, provide additional clearing of stress, promoted serenity and helped to provide an added connection to spiritual self and allow truth to be clearer and stronger.
Students that require support to maintain their own healthy boundaries should wear or carry malachite. A powerful stone, malachite grounds spiritual energies and is an important protection stone, especially for children. A powerful grounding stone, malachite also helps to naturally helps to clear obstructions. This has been a beneficial stone to many who are switching schools, or having difficulties with peers. Malachite clears and activates the chakras, as well as bringing peace and harmony to the heart. For many malachite is considered a stone of transformation
Blue Kyanite is an excellent stone when wanting to stay in tune with spirit guides and spiritual energy. Known to assist with intuition and instill compassion, and promotes speaking your own truth while cutting through fears. A great stone for helping logical and linear thought and stimulating the higher mind.
For more sensitive individuals, we suggest charoite. Charoite aids in coping with changes that are part of a student’s daily life, especially when entering a new school. Reducing stress and worry, it also assists in overcoming a sense of isolation while instilling drive and vigor. Known for stimulating spiritual insight, charoite allows the bearer to hold to their own beliefs while surrounded by other people’s thoughts. A stone of transformation, charoite helps to release deep fears and facilitates acceptance of others.
